St. Lucia (part 1)

I can't believe it took me this long to write about our wonderful trip to St. Lucia but I am finally getting around to it and I am so excited to share some photos and our experience there =)

My husband and I decided to take a trip to St. Lucia for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We started planning for a vacation a few months ago but we never really thought about going to St. Lucia nor put much thought into the island but we actually have a really good friend that is from St. Lucia and we started researching a bunch of Carribean islands and ultimately fell in love with the beauty of St. Lucia.

First off, compared to other Carribean islands, I feel like St. Lucia is a lot safer. I still will not wander off alone at night ( outside of the resorts) but the locals are so friendly and helpful!

We arrived on sunday afternoon to St. Lucia and headed straight to Coconut Bay resort. The airport is really really small and as soon as you walk out the gates there are so many taxi booths (from each resort) and you just walk up to the booth and they will assign a driver to take you to your resort! easy peasy!

Coconut Bay is a resort located about 5 minutes away from the airport in a town called Vieux Fort. The resort is a family friendly casual resort. They have so many pools ( adult only ones too) and the resort is located right on the beach. It is an all inclusive resort and the restaurants/buffets/drinks were all so great! The staffs were exceptional and we had such a great time!

East coast of St. Lucia was having very bad seaweed problems this year but the beach was still gorgeous!

Drank so much of their signature "dirty banana" drink =)

We walked around the town of Vieux Fort (very small) and brought fruits from a local lady!

We went zip lining one day at Dennery and it was SOOO much fun!! They had 12 zip lines through the tropical rain forest and it was so beautiful!

We relaxed all day by the beach and in the pool =)

Wild horses were playing around at the beach! so pretty!

Beautiful flowers everywhere

There were dogs roaming around everywhere but they were all so friendly and none of them begged for food or water. They were all healthy looking and all they wanted was to be pet by us =)

Coconut bay's entertainment was amazing! They had fun events and live music every night! This night was Carribean night and they had fire dancers and steel drum players!!

We stayed at Coconut Bay for the first 4 nights of our stay in St. Lucia and we had a grand time! There were a lot of tourists from Europe and the U.S. We met so many nice people and had a wonderful time here!
